GRASSHOPPER TAKEOVER'S

* * * THE SWARM * * *

August 28, 2003

To the Swarm:

Hello from Grasshopper Takeover. It's been awhile since we've "spoken" through our newsletter as we've recently transitioned our entire email list from one server to another and it's been quite the technical process. (Special thanks to our webmaster for making it all happen.) But, all's well that ends well and we're back bigger, better, faster, and stronger than ever! So much to tell....

Recent News:
Ever since the incident with our van and gear being stolen and then recovered, we have been riding the crest of a momentus tidal wave riddled with opportunity.

The June 20th show at the Ranch Bowl -- the first show after the whole stolen van/gear incident -- was completely sold out and was one of the most amazing shows we've ever been a part of due to the overwhelming support from the fans and community as a whole.

In late July, we helped to raise almost $3000 for our friend and fan Ryan Strayha who is going through cancer treatment. At that show, we began a "moment of silence" for Ryan in which 300+ kids all held hands and went so completely silent for so long that there became an energy in the room that you could almost see and that was one of the most powerful spiritual moments of our lives.

Then, GTO was featured in the August 7th issue of Rolling Stone Magazine with Angelina Jolie on the cover.

Then, on August 9th we released the first in a series of 3 limited edition EP/CDs titled "Hear No Evil." We sold over 400 copies on the night of the CD release party and the first song on the disc "No Pressure" is now receiving regular play on 89.7 the River and XMSR's Radio Unsigned "Radar" Program which focuses on the best unsigned bands and songs in the country.

Also on the August 9th show, we honored the members of the North and South Omaha Gang Units of the Omaha Police Department with an Award Plaque and Certificates of Honor and a charitable donation to the Victim's Assistance Program for $650 -- money made from raffling off GTO signed guitars at our shows.

And now, GTO is only 24 hours from arriving in Las Vegas to play a VH-1 taped concert event with the Goo Goo Dolls and The Donnas on August 30th at 7pm at the Paris Hotel's Les Theatre Des Arts. We extend a huge thanks to all of you who voted for us on budweiser.com allowing us to be a part of this amazing opportunity. While there is no guarantee that GTO will actually be aired, if you would like to see the concert (in hopes of catching a glimpse of GTO rockin' it) tune into VH-1 on Tuesday, September 9th at 8pm EST.

So... craziness has befallen upon us and we are feeling better than we ever have about the band, our talents, each other, our fans, friends and the overwhelming power of music to do great things for so many.

"Hear No Evil"
The release of this EP/CD on August 9th has again brought GTO to the forefront of the scene and has received great response from fans and industry alike. Distribution
If you would like to become a GTO Street Team Member and join our "Fan Distribution Network", please visit our webpage and click the "Street Team" icon. Then fill out the necessary info so we know how to stay in touch with you and you're in! We'll soon be getting more regionally based distribution where the CD will be in all the regular stores throughout the region. But the discs will not immediately reach the West or East Coasts. That is why we've implemented the "Fan Distribution Network" where we offer our fans and street teamers the CDs at cost in hopes you will be able to consign them in local record stores or sell them to friends, co-workers, etc., make a little money for yourself, keep one or two for free and get the music out there in every way you think best for your area.
