To the Mighty Swarm,

Hey everyone, how goes it? We hope you all are having a great summer. Things have been going awesome for GTO. We're still writing like madmen and currently have about 12 songs completed and are searching our souls for 5 to 8 more so we can release a CD with anywhere from 15 to 20 songs on it. The album is turning out to be quite diverse from punk to country punk/rock, to a couple slower tunes, to love songs, a couple instrumentals and, of course, classic GTO. It's gonna be cool and very different. When the time comes, we'll be sending street team members advance copies and the action should again pick up on your end. Also, once the disc is done, we'll be back out on tour and able to play for and hook up with all those of you from around the country who have stuck with us since our national tour and release of 'International Dance Marathon.' For those of you who are new to the Swarm list, thanks for signing up and welcome. If you would like to become part of our street team please email Sean Vest ("Leader of the Takeover") at Grashoprtakeover@aol.com and he'll set you up.

For those of you in the Omaha area, we've had some show date additions/changes and they are as follows:

  • This Saturday, July 14th, at the Music Box with Korey and the Fireflies, the Matt Banta Band, and one other TBA. 18 and over show. 8pm.
  • Saturday, July 21st, at the Ranch Bowl with Secret Skin, Five Story Fall, Poppleton and Four Corners. Doors at 7pm, show starts at 8pm. ALL AGES (Also, beginning this Saturday we'll be breaking out four or five new songs titled: 'The Queen is Coming,' 'Saturday,' 'Nobody's Perfect,' ' Omaha,' and, 'Chasing the Wind.')

Other stuff:
--If you want to see and hear some past live shows of GTO go to the Digital Club Network's website at www.dcn.com
--In response to many emails regarding the subject of T-shirts, merch, and CDs, we regret that we are completely sold out of stuff. We'll have new copies of 'International Dance Marathon' upon release of our new CD and we are currently in the process of making all sorts of merch and stickers and tattoos and such which should be available within the next month. We'll have the designs and ordering information on the website so you can pick and choose with great detail.
--For any bands out there who are looking to get affordable and awesome web design, contact our webmaster, Brian, at webmaster@grasshoppertakeover.com
--Lastly, I have recently written an article that will be featured in the Midwest Music Directory. It is an article with information and suggestions designed to help young rock 'n rollers from the time he or she first decides to start up a band until the band's first CD release. I chose to write on the subject because, frequently, I receive emails from young fans telling me they have just learned to play guitar, they're jamming with some friends and want to know what it takes to get a band going. So, for those interested, I've included the story in the Road Notes section of the site.

That's it for now. Have a great day.

Spread your wings and fly,

Grubb / GTO
