The Official Grasshopper Takeover Email Newsletter
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello to the Silent Machine Dream,
In the past (insanely busy) couple
months since I've written a Swarm newsletter to you all, we've been
working around the clock, preparing for the mission of a lifetime.
We've been recording new music for
a new CD and preparing to go on a series of tours in support of it.
Beginning Thursday, March 23rd we're going to begin a national tour
that will take us to nearly every major city in the country between
LA and NYC in support of our upcoming full-length national release,
"International Dance Marathon." The tour will last from
March 23rd through the 7th of May and then resume again four days
later on the 11th, taking us around the U.-S.-of-A. again... and again.
International Dance Marathon
will be out and available on Tuesday, March 28th for those in the
Midwest. Nationally, the disc will be in stores two weeks later. The
disc has 12 songs on it including "Take Me With You," and
a cover of "What a Wonderful World." You can also order
the disc , check out tour
dates and hear all sorts of MP3s
here on the site.
We're super amped about the upcoming
tour and the coinciding CD release. I have two mantras that I keep
running through my head that help keep me focused and positive about
the mission at hand: "There's nothing to fear but fear itself,"
and "If you build it, they will come...." I've always been
a believer in perserverence, that if you put one foot in front of
the other for long enough, you're gonna get there. And, though the
steps seem steeper some days more than others, I believe GTO is "getting
there." Within the band, we have always been of like mind that
our primary goal was to tour and play and befriend the people that
support us on the merits of our music for as long as we could, hopefully
throughout our lives. And now, at this juncture, we are doing this.
It feels right and good.
We'll keep you up to date with our
travels through GTO Swarm Road Notes and, in the event you see that
we are playing your city, we would like for you to let us know so
we can get in touch when we arrive. Also, we are really trying to
save change on the road, so any offers for places to crash would be
well taken. :)
For those who we have been in contact
with about street promotions, please contact Curt Grubb at curt@grasshoppertakeover.com.
We're gonna need your addresses to send you posters, CDs, pleasure
packs, etc... We are always looking for local street teams, so anyone
who wants to help out, lemme know. As we are doing this entire venture
independently, this is a call to arms and we need your help to stay
out on the road, playing music for us all.
To all, thank you for the support.
Without it, this wouldn't even be happening.
All our best,
curt grubb / GTO -- the people's rock
'n roll band
