Gaia, 1998, was GTO's second CD release and gave the band the confidence and determination to make it's first big leap to the jungle that is Los Angeles. With the balls-to-the-wall "Congratulations" and the sentimental "Noel" included on this offering, the band showed its early potential for song craftsmanship, listener appeal, and industry interest.

Congratulations, you're a miracle
been laid unto the world. Emancipation, you always
talkin' that you want your freedom, oh, you got
to got to got to keep on movin'.
I'm not gonna lay down twice.
I got too much to sacrifice.
A way of life for a vice.
I'm not gonna lay down twice.
Oh, hallelujah, love and life are
synonyms to me. So what's it to ya? You got to take
to heart what you're doin', you got to got to got
to keep on movin'.
Early warning, system failure, undercover,
all my life. God has saved me, I'm not crazy, oh,
you got to take to heart what you're doin' . . .

I won't take "no"
for an answer. My eyes are set on you. It'll take
much more than a mouthful, to tell you how much
I love you.
But even when
I strike out on my own, I trickle down to leave
this world alone, I filter out and I'm no different
than anybody else, walkin' downtown.
I live my life
for a reason. To spread my wealth around. To make
music and love and lift consciousness up it's a
feeling, every time that I'm around.
Noel, do tell,
I know you, too well.
Noel, do tell, I know you, too well,
and you're no different than anybody else.
Oh, darlin',
Jimmy packed his bags and went away. Oh, darlin',
it didn't have to be this way. . .

When
she says that she loves me, well I don't care 'cause
I'm a player. But when she says that she hates me,
that's when I care 'cause I don't get none.
You got to satisfy frustration, with a sexual imagination.
Sex on my mind.
That's when the radio's pumpin' and my chick she
is fine, my car is so fast it can turn on a dime,
so crank up the chassis hold on to the wheel, by
the sound of your voice, baby, I know how you feel.
I got my hand on the hood where the engine is hot,
my axle's a twistin' and she don't want it to stop,
but the wheels are a burnin' with a tank full of
gas, she got her hands on the floor, I got my hands
on her ass.
She put her hands on my Trans Am, I caught her singin'
to another tune, 'cause when she slip it in my 8
track, all I wanna do is zoom a zoom a zoom zoom
on your boom boom . . .

Her
cheeks, her cheeks, Rosey. The air smells just that
sweet, Rosey. I'm gonna love you like a potion,
Rosey. Until my heart refrains from motion, Rosey.
And Rosey is not certain that I'm
alive at all, she told me when I'm hurtin' just
to let it go. But the problem here is all in my
head, so it doesn't matter what Rosey says.
Her aura, flora, Rosey.
Her hair smells just that sweet, Rosey.
Feed the force of nature, you are
the gift of your creator. You are what you are and
what you are, ah ha, you must do well, Rosey.
She said to a young boy, so proud
and true, you better cover your eyes, 'cause the
world is coming after you.
What a day makes, what a day makes
in the life of an invalid seeking solace. What did
they give, what did they take but a kid like me
on the surface they are wise men, they are three.

A man came from the mountain, a lesson
to us all, 'cause we never had to listen to him
whine. But to keep the people guessin', he ridiculed
them all, and so they left him, so they said, "Are
you out there? Are you listening to what I have
been sayin'?"
Sink or swim.
All that he was thinking while a
writing down his poems was a hopin' we would love
him when he's gone. I nearly lost it, when an angel,
put me in my places.
OooWee, I dream that I can hide,
but I can't run. OooWee, I swear by the light of
the sun I'll be your tommy gun.
I'll show you yours, you show me
mine, and we'll go window shopping. From ocean floors
to open skies, it's just like island hopping. A
change of heart can change my mind, I don't know
what you're wanting. I know the truth can set you
. . .

Been
livin' in a hotel lobby most my life. Never owned
more than I could carry and that's alright. Did
what I wanted to do. So I sing these words that
are true because I'm proud of what I do, and I thank
God I am part of the lucky few who have purpose.
I've had good times here, how much they mean to
me you'll never know. I wouldn't trade any of my
memories, but I got to hit the road.
I want to live the perfect life with a house, two
kids and a very, very lovely wife. All it takes
is your faith in me, and my faith in you it grows
greater when you set me free.
Better
than love is a little bit of respect and knowing
when, to let it go.
Someday, baby, when I return, I'll let you buy my
story, tell you what I've learned . . .

Rock-a-bye
my sweet baby's high on things that she cannot talk
about. Lady love she knows my history.
She waits her turn to hear that guitar burn through
the screams of the stadium. Lady lovin' what she
do to me.
Once I had you in my sights, I could finally see
the light, and I was broken.
And I want you to write me letters, sing me love
songs, 'cause I never listen to a word you say.
Every time you make it better, I get scared and
Poof! I've gone away.
Lady fall, she hold her head up high like a free
bird falling should. Lady loving what she do to
me.
Do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti is what she sings when
I was around, it's how I came to love my enemies.
I was wrong, I was wrong and you were right. And
all along, you were here to save my life . . .

There's
a reason why, the sun won't shine today. So take
a look around, and tell me what you see. I should
know by now, but still somehow it breathes. If it's
all been done, then what we do repeats, ain't that
a shame.
When the lesson you are learning's almost killing
you, and you want to throw your hands into the air.
Solitary moments give no warning, I've been understanding
this too well.
When I tried to make an offer, help me now, I'll
never ask again. This world only takes what it's
been given, help me now, I'll never ask again.
So you're a tired mind, so you thought, you could
figure it out. In another time, in a place I could
tell you about. Oh well, the sun did make my day
glow . . .

When
you believe in everything you do, there's a reason,
it's a beautiful thing but begs the impossible.
Lately, everything you do, is a maybe. He will never
shed his skin again.
I know you want to come along.
You want to hear me sing a song.
Come if you want to come along.
Come if you want to come . . .
On
me is a pressure to be great, and the next wave
is a big white light, better get your shit straight.
Angels flying over head, they remind me, that the
greatest gifts of all come from within.
Politics and things like that don't interest me,
it's simple things like love and opportunity. The
only thing you've got to ask yourself is, "Are
you happy?"
Yeah,
yeah, yeah! . . .
